Chester, PA (Sports Network) - Conor Casey scored twice to see the Philadelphia Union pick up a 2-0 win over D.C. United at PPL Park on Saturday.

D.C. United came into the match riding high after two straight wins in all competitions, but Casey's brace brought the club back down earth while lifting the Union to 37 points on the season, good enough for third place in the Eastern Conference.

The opening strike came in the 35th minute when Sebastien Le Toux's flick fell directly to Casey, who poked the ball past Bill Hamid for his ninth goal of the season.

Le Toux helped set up the insurance goal in the 75th minute, slotting a through ball to Fabinho on the left flank before the Brazilian defender curled a superb cross for Casey to hammer home at the back post.

D.C. remains at the foot of the overall MLS table with just 13 points from 23 games.
