Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Alex Morgan scored twice in the second half and Sydney Leroux added a third goal as the United States women's national team rolled to a 3-0 victory over Canada on Sunday at BMO Field.

The match marked the first time the sides have met since the semifinal match in last summer's Olympics when Morgan netted the winner in stoppage time to hand the U.S. a dramatic 4-3 result en route to the gold medal.

But both teams had difficulty generating quality scoring chances in the opening 45 minutes and went into the locker room on level terms at 0-0.

After the break, the first great chance came for the United States in the 56th minute when Abby Wambach put a shot on frame with a diving header in the penalty area, but it was cleared off the line by Canada defender Kadiesha Buchanan.

Morgan finally opened the scoring in the 70th minute after running onto a nice through ball from Wambach. Morgan took a quick touch and slid it past Canada goalkeeper Erin McLeod to the far post for the 1-0 lead.

Morgan finished her brace two minutes later when she took down a long ball over the top and got in behind the Canada defense before putting the ball past McLeod in the same spot as her first tally.

Leroux finished it off with a goal in stoppage time as the U.S. preserves it unbeaten record in 2013, going 7-0-2 in their first nine matches this year.

The Americans return to action on June 15 with a friendly match against the Republic of Korea.
