BRUNSWICK (NEWS CENTER) - Two first period goals and Max Fenkell's 23 saves were enough for the Bowdoin men's hockey team to win the 2013 New England Small College Athletic Conference championship over Williams, 2-1.
The Polar Bears (22-3-2) clinched the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament. It will be their third appearance in the last four years.
They'll host UMASS-Dartmouth at Sid J. Watson Arena, Wednesday night at 7 pm.
The Bowdoin women also won their NESCAC tournament final, 2-1 at top-seeded Middlebury.
The Polar Bears (21-4-2) will also host an NCAA game as they'll play Elmira College in the quarterfinals at 7 pm on Saturday.
