(Sports Network) - Ryan Braun released a statement Tuesday in a response to a
report which claimed his name was listed in the records obtained from the
Biogenesis of America.
In the statement, Braun acknowledged having a business relationship with
Anthony Bosch, the founder of the Miami-based anti-aging clinic.
"During the course of preparing for my successful appeal last year, my
attorneys, who were previously familiar with Tony Bosch, used him as a
consultant. More specifically, he answered questions about T/E ratio and
possibilities of tampering with samples," Braun said.
Braun tested positive for elevated testosterone levels in 2011, the year he
was named the National League MVP.
He appealed the result of the test and won. He avoided a suspension when an
arbitration panel ruled that there had been questions with how Braun's urine
sample was handled.
The five-time All-Star vehemently denied using PEDs throughout his entire
appeal last winter.
"I have nothing to hide and have never had any other relationship with Bosch,"
Braun said. "I will fully cooperate with any inquiry into this matter."
