Melbourne, Australia (Sports Network) - Wild card entrants Jarmila Gajdosova
and Matthew Ebden combined to win the Australian Open mixed doubles title on
Sunday.
The Australian pair were 6-3, 7-5 winners over the Czech duo of Lucie Hradecka
and Frantisek Cermak.
Gajdosova and Ebden won 4-of-11 break points and tallied six aces in the
triumph. They are the first locals to win an Australian Open title since 2005
when Samantha Stosur and Scott Draper were victorious in mixed doubles.
