Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Dodgers agreed to terms
on one-year contracts with catcher A.J. Ellis and right-handed reliever Ronald
Belisario on Friday.
Ellis batted .270 with 13 home runs and 52 RBI over 133 games with Los Angeles
last season. Over 220 career games, the five-year pro has batted .267 with 15
home runs and 80 RBI.
Belisario, who missed the entire 2011 season because he was unable to obtain a
visa to enter the United States, appeared in 68 games out of the bullpen for
the Dodgers in 2012, posting an 8-1 record with a 2.54 earned run average.
Belisario missed a portion of the 2012 campaign after failing a drug
test, but managed to strike out 69 batters over 71 innings.
