PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER) - Nate Smart's half-court shot from midcourt as time expired gave Portland a dramatic 76-73 win over Moore Catholic of New Yorkin the Red Claws Christmas tournament at the Expo.

With just over six seconds left, the Bulldogs defense forced a turnover, setting up an inbounds play inside their own half.  On the ensuing play, Smart passed the ball to Travis Godblout, then got it back to Smart, who took one dribble before hoisting the last-second effort.

Portland needed some late-game heroics in regulation as well.  Travis Godblout's off-balance floater from the right baseline with 23 seconds remaining tied the game at 69, forcing the extra session.

The Bulldogs return to regular season action on Friday when they're scheduled to host Gorham.
