Gurgaon, India (Sports Network) - Pornanong Phatlum fired a 6-under 66 on
Sunday to capture her third Hero Women's Indian Open title.
Phatlum, who turns 23 on Tuesday, ended at 13-under 203 -- four strokes clear
of defending champion Caroline Hedwall.
Hedwall carded a 69 at DLF Golf and Country Club on Sunday, while Nontaya
Srisawang shot 68 and ended alone in third place.
Trish Johnson (69), Carlota Ciganda (70) and Stefania Croce (71) tied for
fourth place at 3-under, 2010 champion Laura Davies (74) placed seventh at
minus-2, and Caroline Afonso (68), Elizabeth Bennett (74) and 14-year-old
amateur Aditi Ashok (72) tied for eighth at 1-under.
This was the sixth international title for Phatlum, who began the final round
tied for the lead with Bree Arthur before recording an eagle and five birdies
against a single bogey to secure the win.
