(NEWS CENTER)-- One day after saying he would not need to go on the disabled list, the Red Sox changed their mind on David Ortiz. Big Papi is on the 15-day D.L. retroactive to July 17th, with a right Achilles injury. Ortiz did not suffer a tear or a rupture, but will be inactive for 10-14 days. Mauro Gomez has replaced Ortiz on the active roster while Daniel Nava figures to see most of the at-bats out of the DH spot during his absence.
