Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - Kevin Borseth has resigned as head women's
basketball coach at Michigan after five seasons to take the same position at
Green Bay, both schools announced Wednesday.
Borseth previously coached Green Bay from 1998-2007 and led the Phoenix into
the postseason all nine seasons, including seven trips to the NCAA Tournament.
He was 87-73 in the last five seasons at Michigan and landed the program its
first NCAA Tournament berth since 2000-01 this year.
Borseth said in a statement that he and his family were "thrilled" to return
to Green Bay. He will be officially re-introduced at a press conference on
Thursday.
"I am really excited to get to know the current players on the team and to
continue to move Green Bay women's basketball forward," said Borseth.
He will take over for Matt Bollant, who was hired as women's coach at Illinois
last week.
Green Bay went 31-2 this past season and was knocked out of the NCAA tourney
by Kentucky in the second round.
