ALTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- For some people, seeing the ground hog on television just wasn't enough.
A small group at Hirundo Wildlife Fefuge took to the trails to try and find a groundhog in person, but not just any groundhog.
They were looking for Penobscot Phyllis.
The female groundhog was last sighted back in the summer before going into hibernation and the hikers had no luck finding her this afternoon.
They did see a few fox dens, and hope that Phyllis will make an appearance the next time they are on an educational outdoor adventure.
