AUBURN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- If you saw a massive 747 heading toward the Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport, your eyes weren't deceiving you.
The Lufthansa 747 plane was making its final flight. The plane flew in from Frankfurt, Germany and landed in Bangor. The plane refueled then made a very low pass at the airport in Auburn where a brief retirement ceremony was held for it. The plane flew about 25 feet off the ground for the length of the runway as employees waved goodbye.
The plane then regained altitude for its final flight to Arizona where it will be retired.
