MADISON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- There aren't many places in the state of Maine where you can work in 70-degree weather during the winter months. One of those places is Backyard Farms.
The maine tomato grower is back in its full business swing. The company spent the last six months recovering from a white fly infestation that caused them to rip out more than 400,000 tomato plants and start over.
On Wednesday, with the Governor on hand, Backyard Farms celebrated the arrival of their new crop and plant officials say they're back and better than ever.
With the plant in full operation, there are now more than 200 employees returning to work getting product back on the shelves during the company's most crucial time.
