LAKE GEORGE, New York (WNYT) -- Archeologists have made a major discovery in a picnic area near Lake George.
Artifacts that people used 10,000 years ago.
It's right near the popular Million Dollar Beach.
This new find dates back to 8000 B.C.
The state archeologists dig and sift through layers of earth. What they've uncovered in the Lake George Beach picnic area recently can only be described as amazing.
Thousands of artifacts, arrowheads and the like, dating back to roughly 8000 B.C.
Scientists believe the tools were used by Native American hunters and gatherers.
"They're probably living here for a season, they're roaming around the lake looking and migrating after large mega fawna, caribou," said Christina Rieth, State Archeologist.
