LUTZ, Florida (WFLA) -- A simple test could help you land the right job, or pick the perfect field of study. The John Holland's Theory, or SDS, which stands for Self Directed Search, is known worldwide.
"It basically links people to jobs that fit their personality," said Melissa Messer, the Senior Project Manager of Psychological Assessment Resources.
While the test was the brain child of John Holland some 40 years ago, it's PAR that's helped revise it several times over the past four decades. PAR based out of Lutz has grown into the leading publisher of psychological assessment materials.
"We just released the 5th edition of the SDS test," Messer said.
An estimated 35 million people around the world have taken the test to figure out the best career route, or deciding on a college major. The latest edition also includes resources for veterans and members of the military trying to transition into civilian life.
