ORONO, Maine (AP) - The American Civil Liberties Union of Maine is giving its highest award to a Trenton woman for her longtime leadership role with the League of Women Voters of Maine.
The ACLU is presenting the Roger Baldwin Award to Ann Luther at its annual meeting Thursday evening at the University of Maine at Orono.
Luther is being honored for her work on public policy issues including voting rights, clean elections and ethics in government.
The award is named for Roger Baldwin, an activist who help found the American Civil Liberties Union and served as director until 1950.
