AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Maine State Police are showing their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The first State Police cancer awareness license plate was attached to a police cruiser on Monday, as five breast cancer survivors looked on.
Col. Robert Williams, Chief of the State Police, said his police cruisers will use the plates for the entire month of October.
The plates were purchased by the Maine State Police Trooper's Association and will later be auctioned off as collectors' items by the Maine Cancer Foundation, with the proceeds benefiting three Maine cancer groups.
