FALMOUTH, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - 13-time LPGA tour event winner Rosie Jones has been in her fair shares of battles as a runner-up in all four major tournaments. Sunday's final round of the Harris Charity Golf Classic in Falmouth was just her latest test as she bested Lorie Kane on the fifth playoff hole at Falmouth Country Club.
Jones won $25,000 for the tournament victory with Kane settling for the runner-up and $16,000.
Both shot an eight under total for the first 72 holes, but how they got they were completely different.
Each entered Sunday at minus four with Kane finishing the front nine holes five under par and Jones just at one below. The back nine leveled the day for both ladies with Kane shooting plus one and Jones charging at minus three.
The leader after the first round Barb Mucha (-5) struggled throughout to salvage an even par round two and five under total en route to a third place finish.
2012 champion Sharri Turner finished in a tie for 22nd at five over.
