YORK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- If there's one moose that drivers are happy to see on the road, it's Miles.
He's the mascot for the Maine Turnpike Authority, and he'll be bidding farewell to Maine's summer visitors as they wrap up the Labor Day weekend and drive home.
As long as the sun is out, Miles will be handing out a special 2014 Turnpike Edition of the Farmers' Almanac to motorists as they head south through the York toll plaza between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday.
Nearly a million toll transactions were recorded last year during Labor Day weekend. More than 3,700 vehicles pass through the York tolls every hour between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. every Labor Day.
