PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - A Maine man has pleaded guilty in federal court to stealing a police officer's gun and robbing a bank and convenience store.
Joseph Morrill of South Portland pleaded guilty on Monday.
Court records say the 23-year-old Morrill removed a Glock pistol and a badge from the car of detective in South Portland in April.
Morrill used the pistol to rob a Cumberland Farms store, leaving with $182. The pistol also was used to rob a TD Bank branch in South Portland of over $5,600.
Police seized the gun during a search warrant at a home in South Portland on June 14.
Morrill awaits sentencing.
