(NEWS CENTER)-- The U-Maine hockey team started the season so slowly, not many people expected the Black Bears to make the playoffs. Then, Maine had a strong second half of the year and the Black Bears found themselves as the 8th seed when the Hockey East playoffs began. On Friday night, Maine needed a win over top ranked U-Mass Lowell to keep it's season alive.
The Black Bears wound up losing 2-1 in overtime on a controversial goal.
