BAR HARBOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- One student from College of the Atlantic, with an eye for art, and a desire to help the environment found a way to do both for a senior project.
Phinn Onens created works of art with all the trash he collected at beaches in the Bar Harbor area. He took photographs and gathered trash which he made into sculptures. Those sculptures are now on display at the George B Dorr Museum of Natural History. For Phinn this project was a way to inspire people and raise social awareness.
"I wanted people to see the different types of stuff that was out there. I really wanted to create something 3d that included all the materials I collected," explained Onens.
The artwork is on display at the museum, which is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10am to 5pm.
