UNION COUNTY, Tennessee (WBIR) -- Girl Scouts will go to great lengths to sell their cookies during this time of year.
People are used to seeing them sell those cookies outside major retailers, but Girl Scouts in Union County, Tennessee have found a unique location.
There are not many major retailers in the town of Luttrell, which makes it harder to find high traffic areas.
What could have been a problem, turned into an opportunity for the Girl Scouts to get creative.
For the past three years, they have sold cookies outside of the county landfill in Luttrell.
Since the city is without trash pickup, Union County Landfill stays busy on Saturday mornings.
Troop Leader Christy Williams said it is a prime location and sales are steady.
"This is certainly not your typical location. But it is one that does work so being creative with Girl Scouts is what it's all about," Williams said.
