DAVID TURIN'S BANANAS WITH RUM SAUCE

Maine Restaurant Week will take place from March 1st through March 10th. During Restaurant Week, participating eateries will offer special three course meals for either $22, $32 or $42. This year more than 80 Maine restaurants will be taking part.

David Turin's Bananas with Rum Sauce
Ingredients:
2 T Butter
2 Bananas, cut in small pieces
½ C brown sugar
¼ C. dark rum
Juice of ½ lemon
Juice of ¼ orange
Pinch each of Orange and lemon zest
½ t salt
Method of Preparation:
1. Sauté bananas in butter
2. Flambé bananas with rum, cook until flame burns out
3. Add brown sugar, lemon and orange juice, zest and salt
4. Simmer until the sauce is thick
5. Serve over ice cream and brownies
