OURAY, Colorado (KUSA) -- Each year thousands of people descend to the southwest corner of Colorado to partake in one of the state's most extreme sports: ice climbing.
Ouray is considered the ice-climbing capitol of Colorado since it has a homemade ice park.
The park has 14 climbing areas, ranging from beginner to experienced.
"It's a lot of fun. It can be difficult, but it's definitely fun!" said Ty Kelly, a climber.
Kelly and his friends were visiting from out of state. Some of them had never tried ice-climbing before and found it rather difficult.
"It takes some of us 25 minutes to get up the wall, whereas it takes others about five minutes," Kelly said.
