AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The Maine Principals' Association has taken away the regional and state championship titles held by Cheverus High School for the 2009-2010 season.
The MPA is pulling the titles because Cheverus reportedly used an ineligible player, Indiana Faithfull. Monday's vote by the MPA's Interscholoastic Management Committee was 11-0 to vacate the titles.
The MPA says the playing of the student violated the Four Seasons of Competition Rule for the entire 2009-2010 boys basketball season as well as the Eight Consecutive Semester Rule for the postseason.
