YORK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Firefighters in York thought they were responding to a building fire at a lumber company that turned out to be just melted wires.
Just after 6pm, an employee at Eldredge Lumber and Hardware smelled smoke and called the fire department.
When firefighters arrived there was a haze in the building but responders didn't know where it was coming from.
They called York Beach Fire Department to assist and said it wasn't easy to find the cause.
Capt. Humphrey from the York Fire Department said, "we sent six teams in with thermal imaging cameras so they could pinpoint where it was coming from and they located an area in the back they are looking for right now in the air conditioning unit."
Aside from the melted wires, nothing else in the building appeared to be damaged.
