OXFORD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The Oxford Casino is expected to hire 50-more workers now that the state gambling control board has given final approval to it's expansion plan.

The expansion would allow the casino to offer 10-new table games and hundreds of more slot machines.

The facility has exceeded expectations since it opened in June and that has provided a nice economic boost to the area. Local community leaders say they've also had a lot more inquiries from business interested in locating here, especially after the casino released it's first revenue report.

"We've already been contacted by Best Western Hotels. A representative from Best Western is going to be coming here and touring the area in a couple weeks. I've been talking to a couple of chain restaurants from the southern part of the state", said John Williams of the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce.

The casino is expected to open up the new addition to it's building next month.
