WINSLOW HOMER STUDIO
The Portland Museum of Art will open the Winslow Homer Studio on September 25th. Homer lives at the studio from 1883 until his death and painted many of his masterpieces there. The Portland Museum of Art purchased the studio in 2006 and recently finished a renovation.
In celebration of the opening of the Winslow Homer Studio, the Museum will showcase the exhibition "Weatherbeaten: Winslow Homer and Maine", from September 22 through December 30. Weatherbeaten will feature more than 35 major oils and watercolors painted during Homer's tenure in the Studio.
