DEXTER, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A heating oil truck driver in Dexter was in for a surprise when he went into work January 19th. The keys to the truck were in the office, but the truck was gone.
The Dexter police department got a tip that led them ten miles away to Exeter, where the truck had been left near a field.
When the truck was stolen, it had about five thousand dollars of heating oil in it. Police said today they weren't sure if any oil was taken and won't say if they have any leads.
C.N. Brown, the company that owns the truck, said it's business as usual -- they have more than enough trucks to complete deliveries for residents.
If you have any information about the oil truck theft you can call the Dexter police department.
