GREENWOOD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The lodge at Mount Abram Ski Area was destroyed this summer after being struck by lightning. But now skiers are hitting the slopes and enjoying a new, but temporary lodge.

With only five months to build, Mount Abram staff says it was down to the wire just to get it done for opening day. The goal with this lodge was to make it as quant and cozy as the old one. It has radiant heating, a cafeteria, a bar and a retail shop. Plans are in the works for a new permanent lodge.

The mountain currently has two trails open, but with the temperatures getting colder they say the snow guns will be running to get even more terrain open soon.
