BLUFFTON, Indiana (WISE) -- A sailor who just returned home from overseas, and his wife, decide to surprise their 10-year old daughter by having him hide in a corn maze.
Normally the Bluffton and Fort Wayne KOA Corn Maze is closed on Mondays, but the managers made a special exception.
"It just gives goosebumps," said Ann Marie Chrismore, manager of the maze. "What's better than to reunite a man and his daughter?"
Ten-year old Bella McComas is about to get the surprise of her life!
"She's been wanting to go to the corn maze for a while, so I thought well this is the perfect opportunity?" said her mother Annette McComas.
"We said no problem, we'll do it. You tell us when, where and when you want to do it and we'll accommodate," said Chrismore.
First Class Petty Officer Scott McComas has been serving overseas on the island of Diego Garcia for the Navy Reserves. McComas says he's been gone for a year, four times before.
"This one's only for six months, but for some reason it seems like it's been quite a bit--quite a bit longer. Yeah...it's been a rough one," said McComas.
For Bella, it was just going to be another fun day walking through the corn maze until she saw her father at the end of the maze.
"I am feeling very surprised and I do not know what to say, and I don't know what to feel either," said Bella.
"Are you happy?" asked her mother.
"Yes, I am very happy!" said Bella.
