CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (KRIS) -- Two construction workers are recovering after being pinned under a huge slab of concrete at a Corpus Christi, Texas construction site.
"I could feel the floor shake at my house," says Spencer King, who lives nearby.
The ground beneath two construction workers cutting a piece of concrete collapsed.
The two workers were pinned by their legs under a 10 ft. X 25ft. slab of concrete.
Rescuers worked for more than an hour, going into the hole with jack-hammers, chipping away at the concrete bit by bit.
Both were seriously injured.
"Anytime you have that kind of loss of blood flow, it would increase the possibility of amputation," says Lt. Robert Alvarado of the Corpus Christi Police Department.
