TORRANCE, California (KNBC) - A police pursuit involving a pickup truck ended Tuesday afternoon when the driver crashed down and embankment and into a Torrance, California commercial building.
The condition of the driver was not immediately available.
California Highway Patrol officers said they were attempting to stabilize the vehicle before removing the driver.
The pursuit began in the Bell area.
Officers were following a suspect wanted in connection with abuse allegtions.
At about 1:15 p.m., the driver was on the southbound 405 Freeway.
The pursuit transitioned to the 110 Freeway a few minutes later.
An officer employed the Pursuit Intervention Technique -- PIT maneuver -- on a street and the pickup crashed into the side of a semi-trailer truck.
The driver stopped, but continued fleeing officers on surface streets.
The driver crashed down an embankment off Crenshaw Boulevard, through a fence and into the side of a residential building.
