NEW HAMPSHIRE (NEWS CENTER) -- The federal Centers for Disease Control have released new numbers in the deadly fungal meningitis outbreak.
Federal officials say 284 people have been infected through contaminated steroid shots used for back pain.
23 people have died.
16 states, including New Hampshire, have been affected by the outbreak.
The company that made the tainted shots, the New England Compounding Center in Massachusetts, has voluntarily recalled all of their products.
And earlier this week, the New Hampshire Attorney General announced that the company has voluntarily surrendered its privileges to operate as a mail order pharmacy in that state.
The granite state's A.G.'s office had temporarily suspended those priveleges earlier this month.
