DURHAM, N.H. (AP) -- The University of New Hampshire is holding its first Food Symposium, in which students will hear about activities promoting safe, healthy foods produced in a sustainable, humane way.
Monday's events culminate a month of farm tours, harvest meals, nutrition classes and other events held at UNH.
Monday is being recognized nationally as Food Day, an event organized by the Center for Science in the Public Interest. Other New Hampshire organizations are taking part in activities. The New Hampshire Farm to School program, for example, is holding an apple-tasting and giving out nutrition information at the Great Brook School in Antrim.
