RAYMOND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A Raymond man is accused of choking his girlfriend and fleeing the scene once officers arrived.
According to the Cumberland County Sheriffs' office, they responded to Thomas Pond Terrace in Raymond on Wednesday night. The suspect, 36-year-old Eric Farrell, allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and left the house before deputies arrived.
Later that night, an 11-year-old boy in the home called 911 saying Farrell was back at the house, assaulting and choking his girlfriend. When deputies responded a second time, Farrell fled on foot.
K-9s were brought in to help in the search. Deputies ended up pulling over a car that was seen leaving Thomas Pond Terrace and discovered it was Farrell, who stole the car from another house on the street.
Farrell is being held without bail at this time as he is on probation for a prior domestic.
