GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) -- The funeral of Michael Jackson proved to be a scene of intimate sorrow for his loved ones. The King of Pop was given a private version of the lavish public memorial held shortly after his death in June. Jackson's 11-year-old daughter Paris and her brothers, Prince Michael and Blanket, began the service by placing a bejeweled crown on their father's golden casket. They were composed through most of the hour-and-a-half ceremony in Glendale, Calif. Gladys Knight performed the hymn "Our Father" and moved many to tears, according to one guest who asked not to be identified because of the sensitivity of the day. When it was over, many of the 200 guests hugged each other. The mourners followed the flower-draped casket as Jackson's five brothers carried it into a mausoleum. Paris cried as the group entered the imposing building and was comforted by her aunt, LaToya. As the service ended, Jackson's mother, Katherine, appeared extremely weary and had to be helped to her car, according to the guest.
