IRONTON, Lou. (NBC) - A roundup is underway in Louisiana's flood-ravaged Plaquemines Parish, where hundreds of cattle were stranded in floodwaters brought on by Hurricane Isaac.
Nearly a thousand head of cattle were stranded in the parish.
The state has been feeding the animals while they sort out who they belong to.
Hundreds have already been shipped out to other parts of Louisiana and Mississippi.
About a hundred head of cattle died in the floodwaters.
The Department of Agriculture is overseeing the removal of the carcasses.
