PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Immigrants are an important part of our culture here in Maine. They are business owners, students and people like you and me -- who may struggle from time to time to get by.
At the end of the week a celebration of immigration is planned in Portland and its to benefit the Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project.
The executive director of that program Ron Kreisman visited the MORNING REPORT to talk about the event.
CeleSoirée 2013 will take place at Hannaford Hall, USM Abromson Center, 88 Bedford St. in Portland on Friday, April 12.
Recepetion at 6, performances at 7pm.
All proceeds of the event support ILAP's statewide programs offering legal services to low-income Maine immigrants and their families.
Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 the day of the show. Children under 5 receive free admission.
