Hepburn made her movie debut in "Roman Holiday" on Aug. 27, 1953. She plays a princess who sneaks away from her chaperons to experience what life is like without the burden of her royal duties.
In her final role, Hepburn plays an angel who helps Richard Dreyfuss come to terms with his death in a plane crash.
To millions of children around the world, she was an angel in real life as well. As a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, she brought food and medicine to some of the poorest nations on earth including Ethiopia, Vietnam and Bangladesh.
