Rowling had to endure a lot of rejection before editors at Scholastic accepted her submission. The chance they took on her paid off with record-shattering sales.
Rowling has a new book coming out this September called The Casual Vacancy. It's her first book aimed primarily at adult readers. As part of her new direction, she also switched to a new publisher -- Little, Brown and Company.
