The crowd was outraged when Dylan broke with the show's "acoustic only" tradition and took to the stage with an electric guitar for his performance on July 25, 1965.
He only played three songs before the boos got to be too much for him and he gave up. His next song after "Maggie's Farm" was "Like a Rolling Stone." He ended with "Phantom Engineer," which was an early version of "It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry."
