d. 1:19
The Patriots reached the Super Bowl for the first time on Jan. 26, 1986. Not much went right for them in the game, as they lost to the Bears, 46-10.
The game started promisingly enough. The Patriots recovered a fumble by Walter Payton on the second play and converted the turnover into a field goal with only 1:19 removed from the clock. No other team before them had ever scored so quickly in a Super Bowl.
The record stood for 21 years until it was broken by the Bears in Super Bowl XLI when Devin Hester ran back the opening kickoff.
