KENNEBUNK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Caring Unlimited is hoping to ring in the new year with a lot more cash.

They're hosting an Atlantic Plunge on Sunday, January 1st at Gooch's Beach in Kennebunk.  This is the 11th annual plunge the group has held, in an effort to raise money that will help them help anyone in York County affected by domestic violence.

Every year, Caring Unlimited helps about 3,000 people in southern Maine.  The plunge each year becomes a big financial help.

Participants are urged to pre-register online, but anyone is welcome to show up with a donation and dive into the chilly water.  Sign-in starts at 10:30am.
