GORHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- This is the season of wishes... a time we want to make the dreams of the children in our lives come true.
The Make a Wish Foundation gets to do that year round, granting the wishes of children with life threatening illness.
Sadly, the list of sick children keeps getting longer. Referrals are up 100% and there are 90 children in the pipeline waiting to have their wishes granted.
We can all help make that happen.
The Make a Wish Season of Wishes campaign is looking to raise enough money over the next 15 days to grant 15 wishes.
Wishes that bring joy and hope to these kids and their families... Kids like Morgan Walton. She's 11 years old and lives in Gorham. Two years ago she was diagnosed with 2 brain tumors. She underwent chemotherapy every week for 11 months. Every treatment made her sick for 4 days. It's been tough on her mom, dad and 2 sisters, Casey and Marie.
Morgan just found out that she will have surgery to remove one of the tumors next month.
But through all of the hard times of late, she has had something to look forward to. Make A Wish is granting her wish. Morgan is getting her very own tree house. For the next several months she will work with Rod Varney and son builders and interior designer Nancy Norton, who are donating their time and materials, to design a place of her own. She is thrilled!
