Winslow police break up underage party

WINSLOW, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Winslow Police Department charged several juveniles for underage drinking Wednesday morning. Around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, the Winslow Police Department received an anonymous complaint reporting a potentially large underage drinking party. Police had problems locating the party, and checked several locations without success.

At approximately 1:18 a.m. Wednesday, officers were able to locate the party in the area of the Bald Eagle Lane and Brown Trout Roads. Police said they found a total of eight juveniles at a private camp. Through the course of their investigation, officers determined all juveniles had been drinking alcohol. Police said one of the juveniles was severely intoxicated and transported to the Thayer Emergency Room for alcohol poisoning.

Police charged all eight with possession of alcohol by a minor. Another was additionally charged with allowing a place for juveniles to consume and another with furnishing liquor to minors. Police said they released all of the juveniles to their parents at the conclusion of the investigation.
