Waterboro woman scares off burglar by displaying weapon

WATERBORO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --

PRESS RELEASE YORK COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

At approximately 12:30 this morning (9/20/2016), York County Deputies responded to a burglary in progress on Back Road in Waterboro.  The female resident, who was home alone with her two children, five and six years old,  related that a man identified as Timothy Normand Jr., 35, also of Waterboro, broke into her house and awakened her.  The woman scared Mr. Normand off when she displayed her weapon. 

Once outside, Mr. Normand entered the home again by tearing off a rear door and in the process, cut his finger, requiring stitches.  Deputies found Mr. Normand in the home, talking with the woman’s children bleeding from the finger wound. . 

Mr. Normand was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Mischief (Class D) and Criminal Trespass (Class D), he has a $500 cash bail on both charges.  He is scheduled for video arraignment tomorrow afternoon.
