Traffic stop uncovers large amount of drugs

 KENDUSKEAG, Maine (NEWS CENTER) – Police say two people are facing charges following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of a large amount of drugs on Wednesday.

32-year-old Jesse Reed, of Monson was summoned for possession of a scheduled drug, attaching false plates and drug use.

35-year-old Patricia Cloukey, of Bangor was summoned for operating a vehicle with a suspended license.

Maine State Trooper Toral Nelson was on patrol on Route 15 in Kenduskeag when she saw a Mazda swerve into oncoming traffic. She stopped the car and while speaking to the occupants found a hypodermic needle.

After a search of the vehicle, she located three 5-gallon kitty litter buckets filled with dried marijuana. She also found more drugs, including a pipe and several hypodermic needles. The car was towed.
