Maine State Police said 32-year-old Luc Tieman, of Fairfield, charged with the murder of his wife Valerie Tieman, to appear in Somerset Co. Superior Friday, September 23, 2016, at approximately 8:15 am.

Tieman's attorney says he served his country honorably and he expects no rush to judgment in this case. Court mental evaluation requested.
The State of Maine has requested a hearing to determine bail. Until that hearing, Tieman is being held at the Somerset County Jail without bail.

Here's the portion of the police affidavit which has some of the specific details surrounding Valerie Tieman's death.
The Maine State Medical Examiner's Office performed an autopsy on the body located in Fairfield. Autopsy results revealed the death was caused by 2 gunshot wounds to the head. Fragments consistent with bullet fragments were retrieved from the skull, according to Maine State Police Affidavit.

FAIRFIELD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - - Maine State Police said they arrested Luc Tieman for the murder of his wife, Valerie Tieman on Wednesday.
Police said detectives arrested Tieman around 10 a.m. Wednesday along Kennebec Memorial Drive in Waterville, near the motel where he stayed Tuesday night.
According to police, Tieman is charged in the death of his wife, 34-year-old Valerie Tieman.
Police confirmed Valerie's body was found in a wooded area Tuesday afternoon, behind the house, she shared with her husband and his parents.
Police said the husband did not resist arrest and he is being held at the Somerset County jail.
An autopsy is underway at the State Medical Examiners' Office in Augusta, said police.

FAIRFIELD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - - Officials have told NEWS CENTER that a body has been found on Luc Tieman's property in Fairfield.
Maine Public Safety Spokesperson Steve McCausland confirmed a body has been discovered on the property but would not identify the person.

McCausland said the body would be taken to the medical examiner's office for identification.
Valerie Tieman has been missing since August 30, 2016, State police said her husband, Luc, said he went into the store, and when he came out, his wife was gone from their truck.
During an interview with News Center, Tieman said for Valerie to be missing this long without making contact is not like her at all — he just wants her found safely. "Just want her to come out, not be scared," he told NEWS CENTER on Monday. "No one's going to get hurt or cares what she's done."
Luc Tieman said the two were on good terms, but said she did mention some things a couple days before she went missing that made him worry, including her talking about another man.
McCausland said all family members, including Luc Tieman, have been cooperating with investigators.
Maine State Police and the Warden Service began searching the property of the missing Fairfield woman this morning.

FAIRFIELD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - - State and Fairfield Police Departments said they are searching for missing Fairfield woman.
Police said 34-year-old Valerie Tieman has been missing for over two weeks. She was last seen on August 30, 2016, at Wal-Mart in Skowhegan. Police described the woman as being 5’7” tall, 165 pounds with short brown hair and brown eyes.
According to police, she was reported missing to Fairfield police on September 9, 2016, by her parents, who live out of state. State Police said they joined the investigation Tuesday.
Police said Tieman lives on the Norridgewock Road in Fairfield with her husband, who police said is cooperating with them.
According to police, the husband said Valerie was last seen in the couple’s pickup truck in the Wal-Mart parking lot on August 30, 2016. He told police that he went into the store and when he returned his wife was gone.
NEWS CENTER tried to reach out to Valerie Tieman's husband at his home - - An unidentified woman answered the door and said that Luc did not want to speak to NEWS CENTER and that she felt this story was already publicized enough on social media. "Valerie would not want this type of publicity," she said.
Maine State Police confirm Luc W. Tieman was convicted of criminal mischief Sept. 5, 2014, held in jail.
